Solar Heating

Solar hot water is by far the least complicated of all renewable energy technology. Collectors on the roof absorb the sun's energy and heat a transfer fluid, this fluid carries the energy down to the hot water storage cylinder that is located somewhere within the house. The transfer fluid is fed through a heat exchanger coil in the bottom of the cylinder and this in turn heats the stored water. A back up heat source such as a gas boiler is required to provide heat when there is little or no sun.
