Underfloor Heating | North Wales, Cheshire, Wirral
What is the main advantage of electric underfloor heating?
It is the simplest way to install underfloor heating in small areas and awkward spaces. Greater comfort, lower energy requirements and lower running costs, make underfloor heating the preferred choice for both new build and refurbishment projects. The discerning client is usually happy to pay the small premium over old fashioned heating systems to gain the ongoing long term benefits, both for themselves and for the environment.
What type of heating elements are available?
The Comfort Zone range includes underfloor heating cable mats (heating cable fixed on mesh scrim), standard heating cable and in-screed heating cable. The mats are 500mm wide and available in a wide range of lengths from 0.9 to 32.5m. The loose cables are also available in a wide range lengths.
How much heat output do I get?
The heating mats are available in two power densities, 160W and 200W per square metre. The higher rated cable is used for areas prone to higher heat losses, such as a conservatory. The 160W cable is used for normal insulated internal rooms. With the loose heating cables, the spacing at which they are laid will determine the power density.
What types of floor can be used with electric underfloor heating?
Both heating mats and heating cable can be installed on top of either suspended timber floors, or solid concrete floors, enabling installation in all room types. Ideal floor coverings for use with these systems include ceramic, stone, slate, porcelain, marble, limestone and terracotta.
