Huws Gray helps identify builders for the future

In conjunction with one of our major suppliers, Lafarge Cement and Coleg Llandrillo's Rhyl site, Huws Gray has been delighted to support a week-long educational visit to find Britain’s builders of the future.

Lafarge Cement's product experts spent time at Coleg Llandrillo training Building Craft Foundation and other construction-linked students using Lafarge building materials supplied by Huws Gray, before 40 students visited Lafarge's Cauldon Works in Staffordshire to receive hands-on, first-hand experience into the process of manufacturing construction materials.

The programme concluded with a presentation and prize-giving event - attended by Andrew Guest and Chris Joyce on behalf of Huws Gray - to recognise those students who had shown the greatest potential during the week.

The College’s Building Craft Foundation course co-ordinator, Mark Parry added: “We have been very lucky to have the interest and the backing from local supplier Huws Gray's Rhuddlan branch and the contacts that they have made for our benefit.

Andrew Guest, Area Manager with responsibility for the Rhuddlan branch commented: "We are delighted to support this excellenet initiative by providing materials and prize vouchers for the successful students. Just as we are totally committed to developing our staff, we are fully supportive of efforts to develop the future builders in North Wales and beyond."
