Whilst the whole world may have been following the exploits of Bradley Wiggins and the Team Sky crew at the Tour de France, Ben Taylor from Huws Gray's Flint branch deserves his own yellow jersey after last weekend's exploits.
Along with a customer, Dylan Wright, from Wright Builders in Lixwm near Holywell, Ben set off south for Cardiff at an unearthly 2 in the morning. Having reached the Welsh capital city for 6, they simply got on their bikes and cycled their way back north.
An incredible 10 hours and 168 miles later they were back in Flint celebrating a fantastic achievement which has raised approximately £4000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research - a UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers.
Ben enjoyed the challenging experience and was appreciative of the support given:-
"We had a great time raising money for such a worthwhile cause and would like to thank all the Huws Gray customers and Sainsbury's staff who donated. A huge thanks must also go to Darren Massey who drove the car down to Cardiff in the middle of the night!"
