Planed Square Edge Timber (PSE), also known as planed all round (PAR) is easy to machine and its hygroscopic and insulation properties assist in building. PSE can be used as construction stud timber, furniture and in joinery applications.

Capable of a smooth, clean finish, can be glued, stained, varnished and painted satisfactorily, and also takes nails and screws well.

Redwood has an average density of 520 kg/m³ being lighter than Douglas Fir, or Siberian Larch.

Select planed timber is machined from original imported "Unsorted" joinery quality SIDEBOARDS also known in the trade as "BEST" joinery. This high-quality select planed timber has a slightly larger knot size and content compared to our Premier joinery range. However, this is of better quality compared to similar sizes machined from Fifths joinery redwood also known by the trade as standard joinery.

• Machined products produced from SIDEBOARDS are less prone to movement such as shake, splitting or cupping, therefore preparation time is reduced prior to applying a decorative finish.
